2XKO Season 1 Patch 1.1.2 Notes: Akali & Senna Revealed, Ranked Mode & Competitive Calendar
February 28, 2026

2XKO, Riot Games’ ambitious 2v2 tag-team fighter, has officially launched its 2026 Season 1 with a flurry of updates that signal the developer’s long-term commitment to the fighting game community . Following the game’s full release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on January 20-21, 2026, Riot has already rolled out multiple patches and unveiled an expansive competitive roadmap .
The headline news comes from a February 14 developer update, where Game Director Shaun “Unconkable” Rivera confirmed that Akali and Senna are the next champions in development . Meanwhile, Patch 1.1.2 arrived on February 5 addressing critical bugs, and the 2026 Competitive Series calendar is now fully mapped out with 20 sanctioned events worldwide . Here’s everything in the latest 2XKO updates.

New Champions: Akali & Senna Join the Roster
In a Valentine’s Day developer update, Riot revealed the next two champions joining the 2XKO roster: Akali and Senna . Both are currently work-in-progress, but Riot offered early insight into their identities and playstyles.
Champion Reveals
| Champion | Playstyle | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Akali | Mobile Melee Assassin | A sharp, stylish ninja who cuts opponents down with deadly precision. Excels at taking down high-priority targets quickly. |
| Senna | Ranged/Close Hybrid | Wields the power of light and shadow, using a massive cannon to blast opponents before rushing them down in wraith form. |
Rivera described Akali as “a sharp, stylish ninja who cuts opponents down with deadly precision,” pointing toward a fast, execution-heavy fighter built around mobility and clean pressure . Senna, meanwhile, offers a hybrid playstyle—controlling space with ranged attacks before transforming to close in for the kill. More details on both champions will be shared later in 2026 .
Patch 1.1.2 & Season 1 Updates
This patch was released on February 5, 2026, mainly focusing on fixing critical bugs affecting core gameplay stability, following the major Patch 1.1.1 update on January 20, 2026. Patch 1.1.1 introduced Season 1 content, including the release of Caitlyn as a long-range rifle-based champion with trap placement mechanics and the explosive snare effect from her “Ace in the Hole” ultimate ability.
Season 1 also added a competitive Ranked mode designed with longer matchmaking times to prioritize balanced matches, along with a Battle Pass featuring Arcade, Bee!, and Heartseeker skin lines. The Frame Perfect skin series was introduced for competitive champions like Ekko and Ahri, with a portion of the proceeds supporting tournament prize pools.
Gameplay adjustments in Patch 1.1.1 focused on meta balance, including Break system changes that allowed opponents to recover 10 frames earlier to reduce aggressive pressure, meter economy tuning that slowed combo meter gain after 11 seconds, and assist damage penalties that increased strategic decision-making. Character balance updates also gave Juggernaut Fuse a 75% starting Break meter, while Braum and Blitzcrank received minor buffs to improve defensive play.

Riot has unveiled the full 2XKO Competitive Series 2026 roadmap, featuring approximately 20 community-run tournaments across the globe . The series is intentionally decoupled from in-game seasons to allow greater flexibility for supporting additional events.

Full Launch Roster & Future Plans
The launch version of 2XKO includes 11 playable champions, with six champions—Ahri, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, and Yasuo—unlocked automatically, while the remaining five must be obtained using in-game currency. The roster is divided into multiple roles, including assassins such as Ekko and Yasuo, with Akali planned for future release, mages led by Ahri, bruisers including Braum, Darius, Illaoi, Vi, and Warwick, marksmen like Jinx and Season 1’s Caitlyn, tanks represented by Blitzcrank, and specialist-style champions such as Teemo and the upcoming Senna.
Riot plans to expand the roster by adding five new champions throughout 2026 across three seasonal updates, with Akali and Senna expected to lead the next content wave. The development team aims to maintain high skill ceilings while avoiding meta imbalance, and is also experimenting with a Local Duo Mode that would allow couch co-op gameplay for players who prefer shared-screen fighting experiences.
